latest MIUI 10 Global Beta 9.3.21 brought several fixes, including one for the annoying disappearing notification icon issue on recent Xiaomi devices like the Mi 9 and the Redmi Note 7, as reported yesterday. The official changelog posted included several items for the whole host of eligible devices, but curiously, some major changes were not mentioned in it. For instance, the latest Beta also brings the Xiaomi Mi 9’s Game Turbo feature to the Poco F1.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 featured what Xiaomi is calling a “Game Turbo” mode, which “predicts gaming scenes and intelligently allocates resources for complicated scenes”. It isn’t immediately clear what exactly this feature is trying to accomplish, but we wouldn’t count out aggressive RAM management excluding the foreground app to be out of the picture. No official announcement was made by Xiaomi on whether the Poco F1 would receive this new feature, but as it turns out, the latest beta extends this functionality to the affordable flagship.
In addition to optimizations that improve gameplay, Game Turbo also provides a toolbox that contains access to a few functions. You can see the CPU and GPU usage, as well as the current FPS of the game that you are playing. You can even open certain apps in a floating window, change certain settings, and even screen record — all without leaving the game.
